The Vulnerable Persons Registry (VPR) aims to improve your safety by providing key information to local fire, police, and paramedics in order to help them be more aware when addressing emergency situations.
If your municipality has an Emergency Management Coordinator, then the VPR is something that can be implemented in your community.
Acorn created the VPR to be able to assist the most vulnerable in emergencies by implementing a voluntary registry that holds key information about yourself or vulnerable people in your life. Once on the registry, key information (i.e. John Doe lives on the 6th floor of an apartment building and is hearing impaired) will automatically be shared with first responders when responding to emergencies.
Acorn Information Solutions has implemented this program in Sault Ste. Marie for over 11 years and has expanded across the North and to Wood Buffalo (Fort MacMurray).
